Israeli-German mezzo-soprano Limor Gaash is currently based in Essen, Germany. She completed her Master’s degree in Musiktheater at the Folkwang Universität der Künste under the guidance of Prof. Rachel Robins, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Voice from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
She has participated in masterclasses with Maestro Dan Ettinger, Jacquelyn Wagner and Norah Amsellem.
Major opera roles include Carmen (La Tragédie de Carmen), Komponist (Ariadne auf Naxos), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and the title role in The Rape of Lucretia. Other roles include Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro), Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Baba (The Medium), Mrs. Todd (The Old Maid and the Thief), Mrs. Olsen (Street Scene) and Hippolyta (A Midsummer Night’s Dream).
Alongside her Solo works, Gaash appears regularly with the opera chorus of the Aalto-Theater Essen. She is a recipient of the Richard-Wagner-Stipendienstiftung, the Deutschlandstipendium, the Lily Niblock Memorial Scholarship and the Ronen Foundation Scholarship.
Her artistic interests also include Spanish, Hebrew and Ladino art song, musical theatre, Kurt Weill and cabaret and cross-over repertoire.
